        Fantastic Phonics Fun!

        Author: hue

In our Phonics sessions this year the children have been learning some very tricky Set 3 sounds. In Wednesday’s phonics Miss Campbell’s group learnt another way to read and write the ‘igh’ sound. They learnt ‘ie – terrible tie’. The children impressed Miss Campbell so much with their speedy reading Miss Campbell treated them to a game called ‘Pie Face’. All the children were given a slice of pie with lots of ‘ie’ words on and had to have a go at reading them using Fred in their head. Miss Campbell nominated herself as the victim behind the face , Mrs Shears had a lucky escape! The children took it in turns to spin the spinner, read the words and crank up the dial. Did you manage to pie Miss Campbell in the face and accurately read your words?
