We were first asked to identify different hazards to look out for when facing a first aid situation; such as a road accident. We worked in groups to find different hazards and were able to discuss ways help a casualty in the safest way possible.
Talia and Claire then told us all about the DRSABC guidelines to follow when helping someone who is unresponsive and we were able to practise using this with a partner!
We then split off into groups to do even more learning! We learned how to give CPR to someone who is unresponsive and not breathing; how to help someone who is choking and when it is important to call 999 in an emergency (and the importance of not making hoax calls)
We had a fantastic day, thank you Talia and Claire!
