        Year 6 – The Blitz

        Author: Helen Fleming

To kick start our topic, Y6 took part in a rather claustrophobic Blitz e pertinence.
When the pulsating air-raid siren was heard, the children orderly made our way to the hall, sat like sardines inside and had a look at what a typical Anderson Shelter looked like from the inside. To cheer us up p, whilst planes droned overhead, we sung some merry war time songs before, to our relief, the constant air-raid siren, which meant all clear, blared out.
This gave us an invaluable insight into the small, sights and sounds of life for many during the Blitz!
