Year 5 – Source to the Sea
Stibbington Fieldwork Study
As part of our rivers topic and to develop our fieldwork understanding and skills, we visited Stibbington Educational Centre where we focused on ‘Source to the Sea’. The day entailed learning about the water cycle, grid references and map reading, features of a river and erosion. We were able to investigate and test the flow and speed of rivers, concluding where the water flows fastest and why. We also studied how erosion was linked to rivers and the impact that has on the landscape. It was a thoroughly informative and enjoyable day, which greatly developed our fieldwork skills and knowledge.
