‘We are with you’ Drugs workshop
On Thursday 15th July Year 6 took part in a drug awareness workshop with Naomi from the charity ‘We are with you’. This workshop complemented the children’s DARE unit which they have been working through this term.
The workshop began with discussing what a drug is and then moved onto learning about different types of drugs and the impact they can have on the body. Naomi explained about different drugs including alcohol, nicotine, ecstasy, cannabis and nitrous oxide. She explained how people are trying to persuade young people to take drugs by making them into edibles. The children learnt a lot and were able to ask lots of insightful questions to help them keep safe and make informed choices as they moved onto secondary school in September.
