At our school, we provide a comprehensive Religious Education curriculum by working closely with the Diocese and following the Lincolnshire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education. This collaboration ensures that our curriculum is both effective and balanced, reflecting our commitment to fostering spiritual growth and understanding. We incorporate Understanding Christianity alongside the LAS compulsory and additional units, offering students a deep and varied exploration of religious concepts. Our approach aligns with our vision of nurturing each child’s potential and celebrating their unique journey, allowing them to flourish spiritually and personally as they engage with diverse beliefs and values.

Understanding Christianity is a resource from the Church of England Education Office and RE Today Services. Its key purpose is to support pupils in developing their understanding of Christianity.

The resource is aimed at both church and non-church schools; it sets the bar for the quality of teaching and learning about Christianity in church schools.

Understanding Christianity offers a spiral model of investigating eight core concepts that tell the ‘big story’ of Christianity.
