As a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, Bourne Abbey pupils were pleased to welcome Jo Collett, Lincolnshire Road Safety Officer who led an assembly on keeping safe on the roads –which emphasised the right of all children to be kept safe from harm. The theme was Be Bright Be Seen and Jo was ably supported by our Junior Road Safety Officers. Pupils were dressed in different clothing and Jo explained the importance of wearing bright clothes in the day and fluorescent clothing at night. Mrs Angela Goold, class teacher, said, ‘We were delighted that Jo was able to come into school and talk to the children about keeping safe. With the darker nights approaching, pupils at Bourne Abbey will know how to dress appropriately in order to keep safe on and around the roads.’
