        Resilience Workshops

        Author: Bourne Abbey

Pupils undertook fun and thought-provoking activities, which encouraged them to develop emotional resilience. This culminated in a relaxation activity and also making an emotional resilience wheel which they will be able use as they embark on the next stage of their school journey. As a UNICEF Rights Respecting School we know all children have the right ‘to be the best they can.’

Part of this journey will mean that many pupils will be walking to secondary school and so we also welcomed Jo Collett (Lincs Road Safety Officer) to lead a traffic trail around Bourne. As well as reminding pupils how and where to cross the road safely, Jo also pointed out the sites where several well-known Bourne historical figures lived and worked. This certainly helped the pupils in their right ‘to be safe and protected from harm.’

Mrs Angela Goold, Year 6 teacher, said “Huge thanks to both ‘Don’t Lose Hope’ and Jo Collett.  This is a busy and exciting time for our Year 6 pupils and we were delighted to be able to add both events to the range of transition activities available to them.  We know they will all be fabulous as they continue their journey into Year 7.”
