        Remembrance Parade

On a cold but sunny Autumn Sunday, 10th November 2019, representatives from Year 6 at Bourne Abbey and Bourne Elsea Park C of E Primary Academies and the Mini Police from Bourne Elsea Park proudly took part in the Bourne Remembrance Day parade.  Joining a myriad of other local delegates, young and old, they processed through the busy, lined streets of Bourne to the War Memorial, opposite the glorious Abbey Church of St Peter and St Paul. After tributes, flag bearers and a cannon of confetti poppies, resonating with the dying notes of The Last Post, the Year 6 pupils, accompanied by Mrs Sarah Moore, Executive Headteacher, approached the Memorial to lay a wreath – a great honour they will remember for years to come.  The Mini Police proudly lined the approaching path along with Lincolnshire Volunteer Police cadets, standing smartly in their uniforms.  After the two minute silence, Father Chris said a bidding prayer and brought this year’s ceremony of commemoration to a thoughtful and peaceful close.  Miss Stephanie Davey, Bourne Elsea Park, said “Well done to our dignified ambassadors for representing our schools with pride and honour.”
