Year 5 and 6 children from Bourne Elsea Park and Bourne Abbey C of E Primary Academies recently represented their schools at the Lincolnshire South East School Partnership hockey tournament.
It was a cold, rainy day but the children were not put off and were eager to get involved. For some children this was their first hockey competition but they showed brilliant determination and developed their skills throughout the day. The children played ‘Quicksticks’ hockey with squads of 6 and only 4 children on the pitch at any time.
All 4 teams had a successful day with Bourne Elsea Park’s B team coming 7th. It was a tense playoff round when the Bourne Elsea Park A team had to play Bourne Abbey’s B team for 3rd and 4th place with a final score of 2-1 to Bourne Abbey. Bourne Abbey’s A team then narrowly lost in the final to Market Deeping Community Primary with a final score of 3-2.
