Oundle Music Festival…amazing success!
The Bourne Abbey Primary Academy Singing Squad wowed the judges at the highly prestigious Oundle Festival of Music & Drama on Monday 27th March and returned to school the proud winners of the award for Best Artistic Choral Performance. The children’s rendition of ‘Walking in the Air’ was singled out for special mention by the judges, who were full of praise for the children’s efforts and commented on the magical harmonies, delicate phrasing and dynamics of their performance and how these made the adjudicators’ heart flutter! The children also sang ‘Let’s Get To It (The Perseverance Song)’ and were awarded 2nd place overall in the Choir Year 6 & Under section. Head of Music, Richard Gombault, said, “I could not be prouder of the children. They have worked so hard to polish the delivery of some challenging pieces and it was wonderful to see their excited faces when it was announced they’d won the award for Best Artistic Choral Performance!”
