How does our curriculum work?

At our school, we are committed to offering a curriculum that is thoughtfully tailored to meet the unique needs of each child, underpinned by our vision for all children to flourish. This approach is guided by our key curriculum drivers: Respect for all, Spirituality, Personal growth, Success and flourishing, and Community – local, national, and global. These principles ensure that our children not only succeed academically but also grow into well-rounded, compassionate individuals with a strong sense of their place in the world.

Rather than relying on a single scheme, we customise our approach across subjects to deliver the highest quality education using a range of excellent resources and frameworks. For instance, we incorporate White Rose Maths, Get Set 4 PE, the Primary Knowledge Curriculum, Oddizzi, and the Lincolnshire Music Service, ensuring that each subject is taught in a way that best supports our students’ learning and development.

While the National Curriculum provides essential objectives and standards, it is just one part of our educational approach. We use it as a foundation to create engaging and stimulating lessons, with the flexibility to extend beyond its specifications to cater to individual needs. Our curriculum is implemented through meaningfully linked topics, but we also recognise the importance of subject-specific knowledge and skills, ensuring that subjects are taught discretely when necessary to maximise learning.

We bring our curriculum to life through diverse teaching including educational visits, guest speakers, role play activities, and enhancement days. These experiences deepen and enrich learning, building on skills and knowledge from previous years. Our commitment to overcoming barriers to learning ensures that each child receives the support they need to succeed.

Additionally, our broad and balanced curriculum is complemented by a vibrant array of extra-curricular clubs, offered at lunchtime and after school. We strive to uncover and nurture each child’s special talents, providing opportunities for every student to flourish and find something they are passionate about.
