        Get Set… Pedal

        Author: hue

We took part in Sustrans Big Pedal from 19th – 30th April. This campaign encouraged children to take active journeys to school on as many days as possible during the event.

On each day of the challenge schools from around the country competed to see who could record the greatest numbers of pupils, parents, carers and staff cycling, walking and scooting to school. It was a great way to get the children active which is important for physical health and mental wellbeing.

Over the ten days we recorded 5069 active journeys with an average daily score of 66.5%. A special mention to 3S who recorded 459 active journeys over the 10 days.

Taking part in this challenged was a great way to encourage our children to become Agents of Change and create healthier places and happier lives for everyone. It helped our children to see the impact of completing active journeys can have on the environment and contributed to our Eco Schools work but promote greener, cleaner ways of travelling. We would like to thank all of our parents and carers for their support with the Big Pedal.
