In Term 2 our Christian Values are Friendship and Peace.
(Matthew 8.23-27). Father Peter created Storm Abbey in his first Collective Worship of the term to introduce our Christian Value of Peace. The wind howled around the hall and the rain lashed down onto the floor as he shared with us the start the our
Bible story of the term. Father Peter talked about how at times our lives can feels a little bit troubled and it might feel like we are stuck in the middle of a big storm. But when things go wrong, we can turn to Jesus and trust that he will help us through the hard times. Father Peter said that Jesus can give us peace in the middle of life’s storms and for this we give thanks.
Peace is God’s intention for the whole of creation, and through our Collective Worships we will be encouraging the children to appreciate quietness and providing opportunities for calm reflection. Children will also be encouraged and reminded to solve their differences in a constructive way and to develop skills as a peacemaker.
Jesus said: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God
