Bourne Abbey Year 6 Cricket Success!
Bourne and Deeping Cricket Tournament
A mixed team of children from Year 6 recently took part in a cricket tournament held at Market Deeping Cricket Club.
Eight children took part in the tournament and they were hugely excited about representing the school and competing against other schools. There were eight teams taking part from local schools and they put up some very stiff opposition.
Despite having limited previous cricket experience, the team displayed an excellent competitive spirit and supportive team work and fought hard to compete in their matches. They learnt the skills quickly and played some excellent cricket and displaying courage and determination throughout. We finished 4th overall, which was a fantastic effort.
It was a very competitive day of competition but the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and represented the school superbly – they were a real credit to Bourne Abbey!
