Bourne Abbey were incredibly fortunate to watch a live theatrical performance of The Stick Man which the KS3 Drama Club at Bourne Academy had been busy rehearsing.
The Year 2 and Year 3 pupils (and teachers) at the school were treated to a very special preview. It was also special for the secondary pupils as many of them were going back to their old primary school and could see their teachers again!
The performance was very relevant for Bourne Abbey as we are busy working towards our schools Artsmark award. It has provided us a great opportunity to build local community links. Having the opportunity to explore the text practically gave a new dimension to the book and helped to enthuse pupils love of reading.
