        John Wesley

John Wesley (1703-1791) was an influential English cleric, theologian, and evangelist, best known as a leader in the Methodist movement. His commitment to preaching and teaching took him across many towns, including Bourne, where he delivered a sermon in the Market Place in 1782.

        Commitment to Education

Education was one of Wesley’s core commitments, a passion deeply rooted in his interpretation of the Bible. He believed in the transformative power of education and advocated for the inclusion and upliftment of all individuals through learning. This inclusivity is reflected in his vision that education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their social or economic status.

        Vision of Inclusivity

The word “all” was crucial in Wesley’s vision for education. He championed the idea that every person should have the opportunity to learn and grow. This inclusive vision aligns with our own commitment to creating an educational environment where everyone can flourish. Like Wesley, we are passionate about ensuring that all individuals are enabled to learn, fostering a community where every person can reach their full potential.
