Year 3 – Seven Worlds, One Planet

Today began just like any other day at school. However, we were all aghast to find out that Sir David Attenborough had sent a video message to us. Having already been learning about this inspirational gentleman in our morning challenges we have come to learn that he adores our planet just as much as we do. Sir David Attenborough wanted us to learn about the seven continents of the world. How could we do this? Well, a jumbo jet was the only way to travel. Our teachers handed us our own individual passports and boarding passes. Without hesitation we used our take care writing to add our details, there was not a second to lose. We passed through border control, listened to the steward as she told us about the emergency procedures and found our seats. It seemed like we might be on the plane for a lifetime but in the blink of an eye we had arrived at our first destination.

We celebrated our God Given Talents today by learning African dance, collaging giant parrots found in South America as well as using our Christian Value of perseverance to build the Eiffel Tower out of spaghetti and marshmallows in Europe. Our tummies rumbled loudly as we immersed ourselves in the aroma of star anise and fennel through Asia. Antarctica challenged our resilience, as we chipped away at ice to find secrets. Stunning dotty patterns were printed on boomerangs in Australia. In North America we solved USA flag puzzles. As we passed through each continent a sticker welcoming us was added to our tops. We wish you could have come along with us, it really was a once in a lifetime trip!
