Bourne Abbey Kids’ Club complements the normal school day to offer children wrap around care in an outstanding provision.
Bourne Abbey Kids’ Club first opened in April 2001 and offers quality after school and holiday care for children aged 4-11 years.
The after school club is based in the Key Stage 1 Hall . The staff ratio is kept at 1:10 for children aged 8 years and above and 1:8 for children aged 4 and above.
Kids’ Club is open from 3:15pm to 6:00pm Monday to Friday. A Holiday Club takes place during school holidays. This is open between 7.30am and 6:00pm. Details are available separately.
At the end of each school day the children in Key Stage 1 and Year 3 are collected from their classrooms by a member of staff. Older children from Years 4, 5 and 6 are expected to make their own way to the Key Stage 1 Hall directly after being dismissed by the class teacher. All children present will be marked on the Kids’ Club register.
Bourne Abbey Kids’ Club is set out with a range of different toys and play equipment to suit both genders and promote the areas of development. Children are welcome to use the blue room (outside of the hall) to complete their homework.
Children are welcome to take toys outdoors and use various outdoor equipment in either playgrounds. During the Summer months the grass area and trim trail is available and the Astroturf ensures a variety of fun, whatever the weather. During the Winter, we have access to the KS2 Hall where the children can enjoy various indoor ball games and we have access to the Computing Suite all year round.
During each session the children have the chance to visit the ‘Snack Bar’ offering a nutritious delicious light snack, catering for all dietary and allergy requirements. The weekly snack menu is on display in the Kids’ Club entrance corridor.
